Holy Week

Lent really flew past. It's Holy Week already, Maundy Thursday to be precise. And yeah I haven't been blogging at all cause apparently now I even have tests in the last freaking week of the semester. So yes I do have a lot to update.

I had a pretty good weekend last weekend. I mean I was supposed to be studying but of course the need to stuff my brain to bursting point was completely ignored. Anyway I had a pretty typical boring week. Thursday was fun though.

Went to uni cause I had to pass Larry his tutorials back. I was so lazy to go but I had no choice cause I was lazy to copy the tutorials the previous day so I had to bring Larry's tutorial home (not like I copied it when I got home also). So I went la, and ended up staying the whole day doing absolutely nothing.

I am dead serious. We had lunch and photocopied the tutorials then Larry and I sat in S block until 6 freaking pm doing nothing. Joanna and Qades were having class and every time they came out to check on us we'd still be doing nothing. I mean we could have read a book, studied, something but we chose to just stare at our awesome surroundings and talk about how lifeless we were.

So we ended up doing stupid things. For instance, Larry and I both wrote poems about.....are you ready for this?

This red car.

I am so lifeless lol. Here's mine.

If you can't read it, it goes something like this;

There she sits gleaming in the sun,
Her eyes stare me down in silence,
She rests so gracefully on pavement barren,
I sigh as she is not mine, but Byron's.

Why is he the one who revels in her company?
Why does he get to shiver at her touch?
Why does he get to proudly show her off to his friends,
While I sit by quietly and watch?

I wonder if he'll take good care of her,
When she isn't a year old anymore, but nine.
I keep wondering why that beautiful red car,
Had chosen to be Byron's instead of mine.

You'll understand why I can't post Larry's poem as of yet when you see this.

So yeah that'll need some expert deciphering before I can post it.

Anyway, had an awesome night out on Saturday with for sis's birthday. Headed to Mist and had a great time, what with the free flow for ladies and Joash finishing my money on drinks. Unfortunately I don't remember much lol.

Sunday was fun despite my horribly painful lack of sleep. Went for 8.30 service as usual and walked around the church as usual for Palm Sunday. And when we were walking past the Book Corner who do I see but Matthew :) So after service was hilarious. Suddenly the whole gang turned up for service, Bryan, Leanne, Reyhan, Lisa, Chris, Stephanie. It was fun. I mean excluding the part where I went for 2 services and listened to Dad's sermon twice la.

Then we went for lunch at Lisa's mom's restaurant. Been ages since I've been there :) Had too much food and too much sleepy conversation and laughed at too many jokes that weren't even faintly funny. Then I went home and watched JC for the rest of the day :D

Last night was the highlight of my week so far. Went to OVO at Damansara for this comedy night that was absolutely hilarious. It was totally worth doing my crappy Calculus test in the morning and walking in the hot, hot, hot sun to TBR for lunch and waiting 3 hours for Larry to pick me and Joanna up with nothing but a weird novel and a sick Joanna for company. We had dinner at the Salad Bar, which has surprisingly awesome food. Not to mention you get a great feeling cause you're being all healthy lol.

So OVO. The host was sooooo cute. Seriously adorable smile and a hint of....wait for it....dimples!! My ultimate weakness. Yikes. Anyway the first comedian was this Australian guy who was really good. The crowd didn't seem to get it though. I felt like Joanna and I were the only ones who were really laughing. The second comedian was this British woman, and though she was funny, the crowd got her even less. Gosh, crazy Malaysians.

But Harith Iskandar was a totally different story. There's a pretty good chance everyone in the room was rolling on the floor. He was funny, that's true. But his jokes were the sort we've all heard before. So while I was laughing my ass off, I was just a tiny little bit disappointed.

So yeah, that's my update. I just realised I'm supposed to be studying Microecons right now. Which I will do....

Right after I watch another episode of Glee.

Oh and have my lunch.

Oh and, and, and I have to do my annual duty of informing everyone what time Maundy Thursday and Good Friday and Easter Eve services are.

Then I'll study :)

Really.....

A Long Pointless Day

Yesterday = Nightmare

I woke up around 7. Enough said right? But okay I woke up around 7 cause I had the Undang test for my driving thing. I kinda didn't bother studying this time cause I knew we'd have plenty of time in the car and all for that. Not to mention there's only so many times I can go over the same 500 questions. So dad sent us to the station and we took a cab from Sri Rampai to the driving school. And awesomely, I paid for all our train tickets and the cab without getting my allowance for the week.

We ended up at the driving school about half an hour early :s So yeah we just stood around 'studying'. Or rather, sis was studying while I did my best to ignore Joash who as usual was the most confident of the 3 of us and didn't have to study. Incidentally, he failed the test but then retook it with my money. So yeah, joke's on me.

Thankfully I passed. Got a 46 out of 50. Not bad for someone who only studied the night of the previous Friday and then sat for the test on Tuesday, right? :)

Then the driving school auntie told us that since we passed our Undang we might as well get our 6 hour theory/amali lecture out of the way.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I was totally unprepared! Didn't get a full night's sleep so I could stay awake, didn't charge my phone so I could listen to some music, didn't pack some food so I wouldn't have to go back to the bloody canteen in that accursed place, nothing!! But needless to say, I just wanted to get it over with so to Segambut we went.

The lecturer for the theory part was so annoying. He was telling us everything that I had just studied for the bloody Undang test. And he kept shouting for no apparent reason. I mean the class was deathly quiet and there was less than 20 people there. I assure you there was absolutely no reason to shout. It's not like he was struggling to be heard over our enthusiastic cheers and applause.

The only good thing I have to say about him was that he finished the lecture an hour early. Not that there was anything to be happy about. It's not like hanging out in the canteen was that much fun. So after that at 2 we had our amali part of the lecture. This very nice lady from the driving school was teaching us and we were out of the fridge that they called a classroom. So that was a relief.

After that was done we were just sitting and loitering in the office waiting for someone from the driving school to pick us up. It was an interminably long wait and I fell asleep. It wasn't a pleasant sleep cause I kept waking up and was thinking that the office people must be laughing at me. But then again they're probably used to people showing up sleepy and bored.

When I got home the first thing I did was look for food. I was so starved for edible food. Thank goodness that the next time I'm headed to the bloody place in the middle of nowhere I will have a warning in advance. I am not looking forward to going back there.

Kill me now.

Almost there pardner

I had a great weekend. And I'm pretending Friday didn't happen obviously.

I was supposed to take my theory test for my driving on Saturday. So Friday night I somehow powered through like 400 questions in that stupid book we have to read. And Saturday morning over breakfast and on the way to the driving school I actually finished the remaining questions. I was so proud of myself and I felt so prepared. And Joash didn't do anything at all so he was freaking out. But, as always luck was not on my side and the Internet at the bloody place was down. So finishing those 500 questions was a stupid waste. It had better pay off tomorrow when I'm really taking the test.

So after that I had to take Joash to Bangsar to the salon. Yes, I had to take the poor overgrown baby to the salon cause he was incapable of going himself. All by his almost 19 year old self. It was hilarious seeing him looking so out of place there. And I made sure to tell the guy to blow dry his hair cause I wanted to see what it looked like straight. All I can say is, Joash was not meant to have straight hair. Ever.

After that my day got much pleasanter. Went to Times Square to meet up with some school friends. Joash tagged along for what reason I don't know. He looked so bored I was tempted to offer my services in a mercy kill. It was great seeing those girls again after so long. I think the last time I saw them was Deepavali. Wow. How sad is that? Anyway, it was hilarious. I spent most of my time laughing my ass off. Sham was being a clown as usual, Jeni looked like she was already practicing being a lawyer, Nisha was just being Nisha, Asha was so freaking sarcastic it was hilarious, Sharanya got skinnier, Khir became stick thin....I should really lose some weight.

Anyway we shopped like crazy. Being in Times Square kinda drives us insane when we see the crazily cheap merchandise. It's a cheap shopper's paradise :) I bought so much stuff. I finally got that studded belt I wanted. Been looking for it for goodness knows how long. And no I'm not one of those people who camwhore wearing their new clothes. I'd have to actually be thin to do that :)

Then when they left Shu finally got there and helped me complete my final leg of the shopathon. After that we went to KLCC to meet Larry for dinner. Or rather I had dinner at Nando's while they watched. Those two clowns were full from eating I don't know what. Then we headed to The Apartment for dessert. Oh my goodness they have the awesomest baked chocolate pudding I have ever tasted. Seriously. It was heavenly. Divine. Godsent. I could go there for dessert every single day for the rest of my life.

Then we met Larry's sister and one of his cousins. It was absolutely hilarious. We had an awesome time. Then they had a baked chocolate pudding too so obviously I stole some :) I'm a pig, I know.

So after that we sent Shu home and then Larry dropped me off. It was a good day.

Sunday. Sunday was so nice cause MICHAEL'S BACK!!! Well only for 2 weeks but still :) He came for 10.30 service. And the Vijiarungam siblings finally showed up too. And I saw our possible future car!! It's a Nissan Sunny but who the hell cares?? IT'S A CAR!! And it may soon be ours!! :D Okay I'm calming down now.

Oh and I saw Chris too after so long. Speaking of the almost-seminarian, I have a shocking announcement. Whoever would have guessed that this clown who even my dad calls and I quote 'a cool dude'

.....

liked *NSync. I was so shocked I couldn't even summon enough energy to display a shocked expression. I was just blown away. For the first time I didn't have to explain who JC Chasez was. No wonder we're friends lol.

*sigh* Speaking of the ever dreamy, ever drool-worthy Mr. Chasez, it has been 20 hours and 5 minutes since JC. When Hannah and Beth came over on Sunday they ended up watching an *NSync concert on my laptop. I should really stop drawing them into my craze. Nobody of their generation seems to get boybands. And today Hannah actually asked me if they could continue watching the concert cause on Sunday they had to leave while the concert was just starting. I had to take a few deep breaths before I very strongwilledly told her that I was giving up watching JC videos during Lent.

Another temptation was when I saw a link on Joash's wall on Facebook. It was a video of some dance crew on ABDC. America's Best Dance Crew is JC's only current project. He's one of the judges and the only reason I even watch it at all. I suppose the crews are pretty good but the critiques are all I'm interested in ;) Season 6 just started and its LENT so I can't watch it. Which is sad.

Damn I can't wait for Easter. Just 2 weeks away.  A mere 2 weeks. I can do this right?

Right? :s

3 more weeks then EASTER

I'm feeling so JC-deprived right now. It has been 11 hours and 50 minutes since JC.

I don't get it. I mean I know *NSync was huge but they had sooooooooo many interviews and videos to be watched la. I thought I made a pretty good dent in a huge pile of media that had to do with them but I recently discovered a mass of videos that I haven't seen yet. Wow. They sure kept busy while all the *NSync hype was at its peak. Which was all the way from 1995 to about 2005. Okay so its a long time but I'm still shocked at how many things they did in that time.

On a brighter note, I just discovered that the Sunday after next is Palm Sunday thank goodness. Lent is drawing to a close for the year. And again I say...THANK GOODNESS. The giving up meat thing is surprisingly getting easier year by year. This year my only complaint is that it's difficult to find vegetarian food. Other than that, being vegetarian isn't that bad at all.

Maybe it's because I have something I'm suffering over more that being vegetarian seems like a trivial worry. Okay I know not watching JC Chasez seems pretty trivial, but depriving myself of him is what made things worse. *sigh*

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway April is off to an excellent start. April Fool's day was hilarious. Larry actually had a list of 'targets'. Yes, he had a literal piece of paper with names on it. He literally crossed names off his list after he April Fooled them. And he had a 'strategy' list too on how to con everyone. It was just so funny.

I was so proud that his strategy for me simply said 'Challenge'. I'm so honoured to be deemed a challenge to prank. He tried too. Hard. Lol when we were at TBR having lunch he and Joanna tried to Fool me, saying that Joanna was chatting with this guy for hours while he was spilling his guts to her. Larry's face was priceless. Then when I got home I was texting Larry and I asked him his opinion on something I sent him that I had written and he said that he hated it. When I saw the text I couldn't stop laughing at his increasingly transparent attempts to Fool me. Shu tried too. She texted me saying that she was watching an episode of Desperate Housewives and Susan died. I almost believed her but then I realised the timing was a little too perfect, what with it being April Fool's and all. Then Joanna tried calling me from an unknown number and asking me what kind of girl I was making out with her boyfriend all. I couldn't help it; I burst out laughing.

So at the end of the day, Larry called and told me he hated me. April Fool's next year's gonna be a nightmare lol.

Then on Saturday Larry and Joanna came over then after that we went for this play. It was hilarious, I had so much fun. I felt like I finally had a social life too, which was great :) Oh and I have something worth mentioning here. My parents didn't call asking where I was until 11.10pm. 11.10 pm!!! I was so proud of them. So now I know the cutoff point when they start to get worried. It's good progress, from 7pm to 11pm. I'd say that is amazing progress indeed :)

On Sunday mom took us to Amcorp Mall after church. There's actually some really nice stuff there. And so I did some shopping. Pretty minor shopping but still. Unfortunately retail therapy's a super addictive drug. Now I'm mentally listing all the things that I need to buy. So naturally one of these days I will be paying Times Square/Sungai Wang a long overdue visit.

So until something interesting happens I guess this is it for now. Laters...............

A Heartfelt, Post Traumatic Thank You

About five months ago, this album called Post Traumatic was released. Three months ago, I went to Bangkok to watch Mike Shinoda perform...
