Degree life...

Well I have survived a week of degree life unscathed so far. Well as usual I obviously have a litany of complaints about UTAR. For example, what were they thinking putting the campus in such a dreary and dead place? As an old rediscovered friend said, its a freaking graveyard! And I honestly can't even imagine eating in nowhere other than the cafeteria every single freaking day..this one all a bit over la. And not only that, I rarely see any indians around la. After getting so used to such a big gang back in foundation, getting used to the lack of indians is quite traumatising hehe. Nevertheless I did have a good week. It was quite a relaxing one for the first week...degree some more.

Well the first day I was majorly lost. I was surprised that the girls seemed so settled in even though they had only been there a day more than me. The thing is, I only registered on Tuesday. But anyway, as I later discovered, there was nothing much to settle in to. But obviously the first thing I noticed about my class was that this was no TD15 and TD16. Which was to be expected la but I was still disapointed. It was just so QUIET and so...mundane. The only saving grace was that (THANK GOD) Anna and Shu were both in the same class. I have no idea what I would have done without them in that God forsaken class hehe. Love you darlings!!

On Wednesday we finished early so we ended up meeting Aaron and Gabe after class at Wangsamaju. We just wanted to go to Jusco. Lame I know but that was one of the least lamest options we had hehe. So we got on a Rapid which clearly said JUSCO which ended up bringing us on a wild goose chase all over the place. Basically, anywhere but Jusco hehe. On the bright side, we had quite a tour of the Setapak area :) In the end, we gave up and headed for KLCC. And here you get to see all the hugely beneficial things we were doing. Namely...camwhoring.

After that I ended up going for Terminator Salvation with Sanjeev and his friend. Toootal guy movie with no story but a lot of guns n cars and explosions and crashes. None of which fascinated me in the slightest by the way hehe.

Anyway, Thursdays our class finishes at 7 n we have a 4 hour break in between classes at 1-5. UTAR is so crazy sometimes. So us four girls and Nicholas ended up going to Jusco. But before that we had to wait almost an hour and a half so that we could take our pictures for our new ID. It better look good, I have to live with it for THREE years. Jusco wasn't that eventful. I even forgot to take pictures. But we had fun la...especially at Vincci and Nose. Or maybe it was just me. As usual, when shoes are around I tend to be oblivious to all else hehe.
Friday was a very reminiscing-y day haha. I went to PJ to get my results slip and see all these people who I haven't laid eyes on for quite some time hehe. First person I saw was Khuben and of course the first thing he asked for was a massage haha. Haven't changed a bit :) And of course he and Nanthinee were fighting the whole dam time, that hasn't changed either. But the only thing that has changed was that Nevin was soooo freaking quiet the whole time. I didnt hear 'aagaa' one single time. He scared me a little hehe. Hopefully that was only temporary. Anyway Thibash was dam sweet, he belanja-ed me at Old Town. And Aaron was acting weird I duno why. But basically nothing has changed la. All still the same monkeys. And to be honest, we would prefer if it stayed that way anyway hehe. So after sitting and talking to Thiyaagoo and finding out Gabe is class rep now (OMG LOL!!!) I followed Gabe to the mamak where CK and Thilagan were. We were there when Anna, Shu and Michelle arrived and Gabe went to meet them. The funniest part was when Anna's Auntie and Hannah got there. I acted like normal la I waved at them and said hi and all. But these girls were so scared to say anything to me cause I was with CK who was having a smoke and all so they just ignored me. It was so hilarious. Auntie probably thought we had some major fight or what hehe. Anyway I got a ride in SOMEONE's new car after that. Riding back to Asia Jaya was so deja vu-ey. It wasn't an action packed day or anything but I had a total great time hanging out with the guys and Nanthinee. Nice to see that hasn't changed either :D

Transition...

This day seems to be a one day stop for transition. Transition from work life back to being a normal student, transition from foundation to degree, transition from comfortable and safe to being thrown into the unknown again...it ain't all bad that's for sure.

I was unexpectedly more disappointed than I thought I would be regarding my last day of work today. I just realised I'm gonna miss Kak Fiza and Art like freaking crazy. Oh Alang got fired by the way. She was making an extremely simple situation extremely complicated by skipping work and stuff. Anyway, due to my untimely beginning of classes, thinktoys at Gardens is now down to 2 workers :S Did that make me feel bad or what?? So back to the story, today was my last very tiring day at work. It was as though everyone knew that it was my last day and wanted me to give my all at work. So the customers kept coming and coming and COMING...it was hell.
But nevertheless I'm so glad I took on this job, even though the boredom together with the Gardens song choices were driving me insane. A month wasn't enough time to spend with Kak Fiza and Art who were fast becoming good friends of mine. So, in memory of this my wonderful short term job, I have three top memorable moments while working at thinktoys :)

1. We suddenly discovered that there was actually a decent song in the thinktoys playlist which we unfortunately had no control over. The song Confidence(For You I Will) by Teddy Geiger suddenly played once when Kak Fiza, Art, Aland and I were all in the shop. Even odder, there were NO customers. So someone cranked up the volume like crazy and we went crazy right along with the volume. Toy mikes, keyboards and guitars all came to life as we ran amok around the place singing along with the song at the top of our voices hehe. Should have gotten a video of that...damn...

2. The party described in previous post :D

3. I have this thing called Track ID in my phone. You just need to record a few seconds of a song you need to know the name of and submit it. A few seconds later, you get the name of the song as well as the artist. It's kinda cool but the only thing is the phone has to be freaking close to the speaker to avoid the interference of other background noises :S So Kak Fiza wanted to know the title and singer of one of the songs at thinktoys. And let me tell you, the speakers are in the CEILING. Unfortunately for me, there were no customers in the shop at the time. So when the song was playing, out came the ladder from the store room, up the ladder I went to awkwardly hold the phone up to the speaker when I couldn't even balance myself properly, with all the people outside staring into the shop at the weird girl on a ladder holding her arm up for reasons best known to herself hehe. Well at least we got the title of the song :S It better be worth my humiliation, Kak Fiza haha.

Oh another unofficial best most hilarious moment happened yesterday. Well we were extremely busy suddenly and had been standing for about almost an hour straight. When the last straggling customers left we finally sat down and were all rubbing our legs :S Not even 30 seconds passed and we heard the dreaded sound of running feet outside the shop. Art very dramatically threw himself on the display items, ala Hindi movie heroines throwing themselves on their bed to cry, and screamed TIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!! hehe I couldn't have stopped laughing even if someone had thrown something at me haha. The two girls who came into the shop looked kinda freaked out at the disembodied voice shouting TIDAK there but couldn't resist the temptation of the toys. So we ended up standing anyway :S

Anyway the point is, I had a great time wworking and having fun with you guys and I do hope I did a good job and played my part of workmate well. Love you guys :)

Here are some pics of us. Oh and Kenny, one of the guys from the saloon next door.

After the picture was taken, Kenny kinda got caught by Raymond, his boss and was ordered back to the salon...hehe Sorry Kenny...

Posing in front of our very own castle...

Art and his precious tiara...hehe

This is where Art goes when in a mood inspired to create (or imitate) music...hehe

Anyway, that aside, tomorrow is supposed to be the first day of uni. I'm not going cause I'm only registering on Tuesday. But its kinda weird though, I feel no excitement whatsoever. I mean Shu and Anna are almost surely in the same class. But I'm registering a bit too late to be joining them though. But its not only that. I've been comparing like every single aspect of our new Setapak campus to our PJ campus. I mean Setapak is great and green and quiet and stuff...but there's like NO place to hang out, we have to COMPLETELY rely on the cafeteria for food unless we feel up to walking, all our foundation friends are gonna be separated far and wide...I'm being dramatic I know but I can't help it. Oh well, we'll see what happens on Tuesday...

Well other than that and my screwed up love life I guess nothing much has been going on. I'll update again when I have a slightly clearer and hopefully less biased version of life at Setapak. Oh btw SANJEEV I'M SORRY I HAVE NO CREDIT :) Thanks for making sure you came for Dad's birthday tonight I'm glad I finally saw you and your dear brother haha. Love you guys...

Take care peoplez.... :)

A Heartfelt, Post Traumatic Thank You

About five months ago, this album called Post Traumatic was released. Three months ago, I went to Bangkok to watch Mike Shinoda perform...
