A Busy Two Weeks

The past two weeks has been a blur of madness. Between babysitting and tutoring and studying for tests and hanging out with friends....I. Am. TIRED.

So instead of a blow by blow account of the past two weeks, how about we just do highlights okay?

Highlight #1
Rebecca, one of the most adorable girls I babysit, finally likes me again!! The other day when I spent a marathon 6 hours babysitting (while the kids were awake and hyper by the way, this wasn't the typical entertain them before bedtime then watch tv til their parents get home) she actually cried when I left, which TRUST ME was a first and a big deal. And yes I did drive home in a braindead daze after the marathon, wondering how mothers do this shit every single day. Oh and the next time I went to babysit Rebecca said my name!! I stared at her in shock and wanted to do a little happy jig but well, there were witnesses lol.

Highlight #2
Tutoring with Juliana has been going well. We have this unsaid agreement to study for a while then sit and have a girly chit chat after that. And then head for pan mee, my new terrifying addiction. It's fun :)

Highlight #3
Creche at church has been fun as usual. Two weeks ago Jayronn, possibly the most adorable little boy in the whole wide world (who secretly hates me) played a trick on me!! When Avean, the love of his life, had to leave halfway through, I tried consoling him for goodness knows how long. When his mom came to get him and I was busy with another girl making a fuss, his mom actually said "Oh look, NOW he thinks it's funny". And sure enough there's Jayronn with the most adorably mischievous smile clearly thinking "Muahahahahahahahaha".

So cute!!!

Highlight #4
An adorable little girl who sometimes plays with Clara and Rebecca came up to me while we were at the playground and asked me if I was their mom LOL. Forget the fact that I'm way too young for that right now, okay. This girl thought that these two white girls with blond hair and blue eyes were my kids? ME??

Okaaaaay.

Highlight #5
Spent a nice Thursday afternoon with Leanne, one of my favourite girls, after I was done with creche and she was done with class. It was nice just chilling at Starbucks and talking, which we hadn't been able to do for a while. It was nice :) AND I didn't even miss class in the evening.

Highlight #6
I've been trying to write a song to submit for the short and sweet festival at KLPAC this year. I did finish one but it seemed pretty bleh. I wrote another one that I absolutely love but to this moment I am STILL stuck on the last two lines of the chorus.

It's slowly driving me crazy.

Highlight #7
I went to hang out with Hannah and Beth on Saturday and wrote the stupidest song in existence because we were all on a Chinese food high called "The Animal Song".

Highlight #8
Went for a play at KLPAC yesterday called Rashamon. When I was watching it I realised I had seen a similar play before. I then realised it had been a past production of the same play. It was interesting. Ish. I liked the past production better though. That one was done veeeery well.

So that's it. The highlights of the last two weeks. No, my tests do not count as highlights by the way, they're more....lowlights. I'll update soon :)

Cheers.

A Throwback To A 21st Birthday

So, the brother's 21st birthday bash at Lake Club two Saturdays ago.

It. Was. Awesome.

Well I look huge in the photos and I'm never caught with a decent look on my face but oh well, it was a really good party. One hell of a night. And my emcee-ing actually went over pretty well! The poem I wrote for the brother was well received. And all praise to the Lord, right up to the last minute, Joash never figured out that some of our friends and his sisters were planning a surprise performance behind his back. Victory!!!

It was hell keeping it from him though.

Almost caught red handed moment #1

I was working on the list of songs that Joash liked when he grabbed my notebook from me. Same thing happened when I was working on the mash up of the lyrics. Mr. Grabby I tell you....

Almost caught red handed moment #2

We had a group on Whatsapp to discuss practice times and stuff. And since Joash loves to read my texts so much, I named the group "ASM Assignment" so that he wouldn't possibly be interested in reading it. But I forgot that mine weren't the only texts he likes to read. He got into Leanne's Whatsapp when we were having lunch one day and suddenly asked "What's ASM Assignment?". Leanne grabbed the phone and well, she's not the best at playing it cool. She looked at me with her 'what the hell' face which led Joash to ask even more questions.

"EH what's ASM assignment?", "What does ASM stand for?", (to me) "How come you know and I can't know?", (to Leanne) "You're not in college yet how come got assignment all?". I have no idea how we avoided all those questions.

Then he read Juliana's Whatsapps too and found the ASM Assignment group. Thank goodness for little miracles; he didn't remember where he had seen the name ASM Assignment before. Phew!

Almost caught red handed moment #3

Our last practice (Which was our first practice with the whole group. Well excluding the guys who all flaked *angry face*) was the day before the party and boy was it chaotic. Our host went missing and couldn't be reached, mom almost blurted out the whole thing in front of the brother, the brother wanted me to follow him to wherever he was going and I had to lie and say I had to stay home to finish his slideshow, and of course we thought we were going to spend our practice time squished into Lisa's car. But things turned out okay. Avean showed up after a while and we used his place to practice, our singing wasn't that bad even though everyone chose their own key to sing in (LOL), and the parents kept Joash away like pros.

Almost caught red handed moment #4

Although even that almost went to hell. The sister thought she had left her house keys at Avean's house and we only realised it when we were walking home from dinner. Since Avean's place was a little further, he said that he'd pass it to Joash later when he went over to give Avean his camera. Little did we remember that WE WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN AT AVEAN'S PLACE!! So when Joash started asking questions when he was looking for the keys Avean panicked and came up with the weirdest story of all time that involved him bumping into Nathalie and asking her to come over to hang out and then calling me and the sister over or sooomething like that la. Luckily Joash just thought Avean was losing his mind rather than that something weird was going on.

I'm never attempting to keep secrets from Joash ever again -_-'

The awesome emcees of the night!! Okay this is only one of the two or three pictures I look decent in.

Larry: I just wanna tell you all, how much I love this guy.
Joash: Oh stop it, you.

Just kidding, this was Larry doing his stand up to entertain people while they were eating.

What did I tell you? Look at my face. Although Joash looks veeeery happy with his guitar shaped cake. Which he proceeded to smash in my face by the way. Thank goodness that photo didn't go on Facebook. Phew!

And this was the most chaotic performance in the history of performances. Hopefully not too many people were paying attention...

Anyway it was a great party, though mom must be relieved that all the 21st birthdays in the family are over. I'm pretty sure that when the sister eventually gets married, our entire extended family is going to be banned from the bar.

Oh well, clearly the birthday boy had fun and I suppose that was the point :)

Cheers!

A Heartfelt, Post Traumatic Thank You

About five months ago, this album called Post Traumatic was released. Three months ago, I went to Bangkok to watch Mike Shinoda perform...
