I've been meaning to blog about my awesome weekend but due to its awesomeness I was unable to study or do my tutorials so I've been busy catching up. Yeah, you read right. Ellana Selvaraj has been doing her tutorials. Isn't that something?
Anyway Friday was hilarious. We were throwing a late birthday party for dad (Crazy people la this was his fifth party this year I think. And I know one only turns 50 once but come on.) and an early one for Joash. Mom was actually mad at me. You'll never guess why.
Because my class ended at 4.
Hey if she had wanted me to skip Business Law all she had to do was say the word. But skipping Business Law to come home and clean the fans? I don't think so. So I came home at around 5, which was 'late' by the way. Joash came home at almost 7 and no one said anything. Grrrr. Anyway I shall not get sidetracked with the injustices that I face at home. So I came home at 5 and asked Mom what she wanted me to do. She actually turned away like she was merajuk-ing with me and said "Everything's done already," and proceeded to give me a list of things to do. The irony.
I couldn't wait for people to start arriving so I could more effectively ignore the death glares Mom was sending my way. When my aunt got here I almost fainted with relief.
So yeah, Friday was fun (aside from the death glares). Hari and Sarath were there. Sanjeev ditched me as usual cause he was working. But as previously mentioned, whenever Hari's around it's hard not to have fun. And as is our custom now, Sarath and I did a great deal of UTAR bashing. To all us kids' great shock and surprise, none of the parents attempted to leave at 10pm (Which they usually do now that they're getting old. Bah.). They stayed til midnight. It's sort of a new record.
On Saturday I wanted to go to the gym so told Dad I'm going to church with him in the morning. He warned me that he'd be leaving at 9am so I'd better wake up early and I said fine. So at 9am the next morning I'm dressed and ready to leave and you know what time Dad wakes up?
11am.
Two entire hours later. And when he comes out of his room all bleary eyed, he looks at me and asks, "Where are you going?" Goodness gracious. Ladies and gentlemen, my father.
So yeah headed to the gym, came home, had lunch, took Max out for a drive...
I just realised I've never mentioned Max before. I've christened my good ol Nissan Sunny 'Max'. My new baby :)
Back to my story. Took Max out for a drive, got home, had a 15 minute nap, got ready and headed out to Bangsar for Larry's Sangeetham show thing. When I got out of my room suddenly Mom was talking to me again, asking where I was going all. Lol.
Oh by the way, I don't know why this is, but people tend to stare when you get on the LRT with a Punjabi suit on. Luckily I had decided against the more gaudy looking of my Punjabi suits.
The show was...different. It was the first time I had been to a show like this before and it was pretty cool at first. When the novelty wore off I just couldn't wait for Larry to come on. Larry looked so handsome and he sang so well. He said he made mistakes but I only noticed 1 so yeah. Not like I cared also. Joanna and I clapped the loudest lol. We didn't scream though, we were sitting amidst a very solemn crowd.
I took some photos but they're not that clear.
This is when he was trying on jippas. The one he got eventually looked nicer but he looks too nice in a jippa not to share :)
I was sitting kinda far away, this was the best I could do. But anyway this is Larry's first performance.
And this is Larry's second performance. The little boys were adorable.
This was the grand finale. It was pretty awesome, there was a guy with a really nice voice just made for Indian classical music singing with them.
And there's Larry and the cameraman trying to block him from my sight. Grr.
After that Joanna and I headed out for dinner (I hadn't eaten since lunch and the show ended at 10pm. Yikes!) and a good gossip. It was fun :) Hadn't hung out with her in so long. So obviously I was late going home. For the first time took the last train :) It was strangely exhilarating. Mom was not pleased.
I would love to blog about Sunday and all the nonsense that happened but that'll have to wait til Friday. It'll all be clear then :)
My weekdays are so not worth blogging about. Going to UTAR (That bloody place), going to the gym and seeing the parian trainer (He's back with his girlfriend now it seems. This story was told to me while I was on the treadmill.), then heading home and attempting to study before I crash into bed and fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
How exciting, I know.
