A Long Weekend With Mom And Dad

I thought I would die of boredom in Melaka with absolutely nothing to do. I know, I know, I should give Mom and Dad more credit than that cause they're actually pretty fun to have around. But yeah, apparently Melaka is fun and pretty relaxing when its not New Year's Eve. Who knew?

So yeah, Mom and Dad's place in Melaka looks kinda nice when its not filled with boxes and all horribly dusty from renovation that we have to wear slippers inside. It actually sort of looks like how the apartment in KL used to look lol. But that a story's for another day.

Here we go then, highlights of the weekend :)

First of all, thank all that is good and holy in this world for a mother's cooking. I haven't tasted Mom's chicken curry in ages. The anticipation made it taste all the better.

Second of all, having the awesomest room in the whole house to myself while sis was still in KL. I had a glimpse of what it was like to have my own room and it was so NICE. Privacy when I want it, company when I feel like it. Now if only my sister would move her stuff out of my room already, that would be great. My room in KL I mean. Sis will be moving in to Mom and Dad's old room while I get our old room to myself. I'm already calling it my room, if she would only move her stuff that would be just awesome. Unfortunately all she has moved so far are two handbags. Don't laugh now, they must have been too much for her to carry all in one go. She is pretty tiny after all.

Next highlight, finishing all three books that I bought courtesy of the government's generosity in the form of book vouchers. Spent a hundred already on Lee Child books. I love Lee Child, I can never put his books down. I'm starting with Sophie's Choice next, Larry :)

New purchases is of course another highlight. New shades and new shoes. New anything is always welcome :D

Oh and guess what? The food in Melaka is goooooooooooooooood :)

This is turning out to be a very scatterbrained post.

Anyway I'm back in KL now, back to my precious Internet, back to my not so precious classes that starts again tomorrow. Okay at the mention of classes I can't bring myself to blog anymore. Night all.

An Odd Sounding Poem, Even To Me

Okay I wrote it, but even when I read it I'm like.....what? So bear with me.

Ah, the inexplicability of the ties that bind us to each other;
Some made of steel chains, some made of thread.
The idea that a hushed word could break the strongest bond;
The sad truth that even chains have tears to dread.

How is it that ties made of fragile thread dues to years and years of friction;
Still won’t set the people they struggle to bind free?
Why hang on, not letting go before it is threadbare and rough?
Why do they hang on, and let problems and hurts be?

What about bonds made of paper, not yet wrapped in years of friendship?
Why bother when a single gust of wind could destroy it?
Isn’t it odd that these bonds that mostly don’t endure their first attack;
Are still formed even though it’s so easy to be toyed with?

Then there are connections made of wire, deceptively strong as can be;
That is, until an extraordinarily sharp enough weapon can be found.
Oh how it hurts when things thought to be so solidly unbreakable;
Are so easily mangled and tossed aside without so much as a sound.

There are also unions untested by time, made wholly of glass;
That can crack or even shatter at the first sign of trouble.
These are the ties that people wonder at if it lasts;
These are the ones that only survive in a trouble-proof bubble.

But amidst all these, the rarest of them all;
Are ties so terribly unexplainable.
They do not seem to be of this world, yet they just have to be;
And once formed, they are priceless and unmistakeable.

These are ties formed not by man made substance;
But by an otherworldly glue called grace.
These are the connections people live for, fight for and die for;
These are the unions people turn to when they need a warm embrace.

So we fight for the bonds we have, we hope for the ones we don’t;
We strive to be worthy as someone else’s bond.
For without these ties, good or bad, could we really be human?
And if we’re lucky, by God given grace, others respond.

A Wasted Two Days

I'm making it official, right here, right now so everyone get out your notepads and pencils and take this down. UTAR sucks.

I thought it couldn't possibly suck any more than it already does. Really. I thought that this was just about as bad as it gets. But yet again, they surpassed the lowest of my lowest expectations of them.

Yesterday I stood in line close to TWO HOURS trying to register for my subjects for my current semester. Interested in why standing in line was even necessary? Let me tell you.

Supposedly we register for our subjects online during a certain period of time before our semester starts (usually during study break when we're supposed to be studying for finals but let's get back to that later). But the truth is there are not enough slots provided for all the students. For example, in a certain lecture there was only space for 175 students. How can this be when we have to share this class with my juniors and in my batch alone we have more than 200 students? So anyway, when I attempted to register for my subjects I found that the only subjects available (which I hadn't already taken in previous semesters) were all full. Yes, all of them. It was crazy.

And so to avoid the chaos that is Week 1 in the Faculty General Office, some students tend to go to the office during our sem break. But guess what? No one in the office was accepting any forms or any responsibility for anything that was remotely about timetables for the following semester. And so, my only alternative came in the form of standing in line for TWO HOURS yesterday. I didn't even get to do my timetable, by the way. I was so tired and hungry that I just decided to come back another day.

Which was today. And I still have one subject to register for because I didn't copy the two possible subject codes for it and just copied one instead. And that's another thing. Why the hell does one subject have 2 subject codes when it is the same damn thing? *sigh*

Oh well at least I got to register for Actuarial Modelling. My timetable still sucks though. And at least when I went for Actuarial Maths class today, I saw that it was still Dr. Chua teaching the subject. He's so funny, I missed him.

Well that's about it for now. Nothing interesting happening yet, except for Mom and Dad's impending visit this Chinese New Year. Yay :D

A Much Needed Update

Whoa. The last time I posted was in October. Of last year. Damn.

Needless to say, a lot has happened since then. Let's see, Dad got consecrated and became Assistant Bishop, Mom turned 50, Mom and Dad celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, I celebrated my 21st birthday Mafia style, Christmas in KL, Mom and Dad moved to Melaka, New Year in Melaka and 2 weeks of (well, sort of) freedom from parental supervision. I think that just about sums things up :)

Anyway it's a new year, full of old dreams and new hopes and a fresh new positive attitude which hopefully lasts til the end of the semester. And yes, yes it's 2012, supposedly the last year of our existence, big whoop. It'll be a big downer if it is though, cause I'll kinda be spending the next year stuck (yes, still) at UTAR. Bleh.

But Joanna did make me start rethinking my stint at being a magna cum laude UTARian, namely wearing huge baggy t-shirts and baggy jeans with holes in them and not bothering to comb my hair, and of course the magna cum laude UTARian signature, wearing slippers. I started thinking, wait a minute here, I do not wanna remember my college years this way, no matter the crappy location. I want to care about how I look, whether or not people look at me. So yes, I'm going to start taking pride in my appearance again. Thank you, Joanna Saunters Bam.

About Mom and Dad being away and not getting to see them as often as usual, yeah it does kinda suck. I didn't expect to be this bummed about it though. When I got back from Melaka after New Year's, I think everyone kinda expected me to be all 'WOOHOOO THEY'RE GONE!!!' about it and instead I was more into rolling my eyes and saying 'not now, I'm so depressed'. But we're doing pretty all right so far. My siblings and I do the grocery shopping and cooking ourselves, and the house is seriously in okay condition seeing as Mom isn't here to bug us about chores. So yeah, we're doing okay. I do miss them obviously. And they haven't completely moved out cause the vicarage at Melaka is under renovation so they just took a few necessities. Lots of boxes still around here at the apartment and there's still a fair amount of packing to be done. Then they'll be coming back during Chinese New Year and taking it back to Melaka with them on the 27th when they officially move in to the vicarage. Oh and Melaka's pretty all right. I mean I personally found it a bit depressing and Joash and I wouldn't stop bitching about everything in sight but maybe we were just upset cause Mom and Dad weren't coming back to KL with us.

Anyway my break has been pretty productive. I didn't get much studying done, but I didn't completely waste my time. Heading back to UTAR tomorrow for the beginning of yet another depressing semester in the depressing wasteland that is Setapak. Okay fine it's not that bad, I'm just really not looking forward to it. Got a lot of work to do on the first day; fixing the hell that is my timetable, dropping subjects, adding subjects, surviving the horrors of the Faculty General Office with people clamouring to change their timetables *sigh*. It won't be pleasant.

Today at church was nice though. And so was this whole week actually. Got new shoes last Sunday as a late birthday present. Ah that reminds me, thank you Chris Kumar for my awesome new shoes :D Went on a hike on Monday with Qades and Larry and Shu and Joanna. It was pretty cool. Extremely tiring to the point that I thought I was going to die, but pretty cool. The waterfall at the end fell just short of making the hike worth it lol. Then on Wednesday just before meeting my precious Lisa for dinner, I found a splinter that had been lurking in my finger since the hike. And going out with Lisa, as always, was great fun. Then on Friday Larry and Joanna and Shu came over and we made last minute plans to head out and sleepover at Shu's place. Saturday was uneventful except for my trip to do some grocery shopping with Joash :) And today Bryan and Lisa and Chris and Nygel and Joshua and I hung out til almost 2pm at church. It was nice, I wish every week was like this :)

So there's my update. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something but seeing as no one's life depends on it, I'm sure it's fine :) I'm hoping that this semester I will be able to be a model student and study hard and do well. For the whole semester and not just the beginning when I feel all semangat-ed about it. I'm also hoping I'll be a bit more faithful with my blogging; an outlet for my grief and frustration will most definitely be necessary once my semester starts. I promise I'll post about something fun soon that isn't related to JC Chasez, who by the way I'm still crazy about :)

A Die-Hard Fan's Grief

*Spoilers Alert!!!!*

First of all, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Why, why, why???

The scriptwriters at Merlin have obviously decided to follow in Morgana's footsteps and go to the dark side. Do you know what they did? Do you KNOW what they DID????

They. Killed. Lancelot.

WHY??? Why would they do that??? WHY?? I mean, it's Lancelot. LANCELOT!! Could you find a person more central to the Arthurian legend than Sir Lancelot?? Can you? CAN YOU???

Okay I'm glad I finally let that out. *sigh* It's so sad. Lancelot barely got to do anything before he got axed by those scriptwriters. I mean yeah, in the story a year had passed between Season 3 and Season 4 but HELLO, not like we got to see any of it! And the way he died...he sacrificed himself to save Arthur and Merlin and, well practically the whole of Camelot. So on top of being the hottest of them all, he had to be all noble and brave too. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WRITERS????

Even the dragon called him and I quote "Sir Lancelot, the noblest and bravest of them all". Where did he get that reputation from? He hadn't done anything yet! So I'm hoping some hocus pocus is going on and he'll somehow come back to life. He better. The Knights of the Round Table wouldn't be complete without Lancelot :(

I mean, look at that face. Why would anyone not want to watch that face every episode of every season of Merlin? Why?

I should stick to watching shows with no deaths. First Criminal Minds traumatises me when SSA Emily Prentiss faked her death and left the show, and she was one of my favourite characters too. Well she comes back in Season 7 but still! Then that Sam guy from Glee who I was just beginning to like left before Season 3 started. Now this! Well this is probably the worst of them all.

Okay I'm gonna stop rambling right about now. And before I end, I love the cover of Run the World (Girls) by Beyonce that Glee did in Season 3 Episode 3 so I'm posting it here. It's pretty awesome.

Can't wait for November for the continuation of Season 3!!

A Gigantic Relief

At long last, finals are over. Praise all that is good and holy in this world :)

Not that today's paper went well or anything. I barely understood any of the questions. And apparently it's not just because I'm dumb. I have proof too. For example, in Financial Economics we learn about this thing called delta hedging. Which I'm pretty familiar with and all, no thanks to the lecturer (thank goodness for the study manual, that thing saved my life). So imagine my surprise when I saw the paper today that was telling me to find the delta gamma hedging. Where the hell did the gamma come from? :s

When I walked out of the hall the first person I saw was Aaron and he didn't get the delta gamma thing either. Neither did Meena or Priya or Beh Jian Fung or Christina. Damn.

Oh well, I'm just relieved that it's over. Now I'm feeling all relaxed and awesome while Shu, the poor thing, still has 2 papers to go and is walking around my house hungry and stressed. I feel like laughing when I see her walk around my house and help herself to bread and peanut butter and make herself a cup of Milo. My house has pretty much officially become her house :p

Anyway Larry and I went to watch Johnny English today. It was pretty okay, but I still like the first one better. Then we went to have a celebratory dinner at Fridays at Wangsa Walk. The waiters and waitresses there are so nice and pleasant; made me feel so nice. It's so rare to see waiters and waitresses who genuinely smile at you when you order, who say 'You're welcome' when I say thank you, who come and ask me if I want more warm water without me needing to stand on my chair and wave both hands to get my attention. I'm definitely recommending the Wangsa Walk branch of TGI Fridays to everyone I know :D

Anyway, that being said I'm off to begin enjoying my sem break which has finally come :) Oh and I'll blog about something more interesting soon, I promise.

A Mindless Rambling-On

As the title of this post so clearly states, this post has not been thought out or planned. I just really wanted to blog today so this post will probably consist of a lot of nonsensical rambling, being typed out at a time when I really should be studying for the last 2 papers of my finals next week.

Yes, finals. That's why I haven't been blogging at all. I've just been doing a lot of nonsense when I'm supposed to be studying. UTAR made a grievous error in giving us the Raya week off as an extension of our study break. Why, you ask? Well, mom and dad were on holiday in Sri Lanka for an entire week. Needless to say, 'rebellious' child that I am, I was honour bound to party all week instead of study lol.

Unnecessary temptation not to study aside, I've been watching a lot of 'Whose Line is it Anyway' lately? I guess its sort of a de-stresser when Larry, Shu and I are studying. Okay fine maybe it's a de-stresser for them cause I sure as hell haven't been studying so hard that I need to be de-stressed :p Okay here come the videos.

My absolute favourite game they play on Whose Line is called 'Sound Effects'. Here, take a look; this has got to be one of my favourites.

Isn't it funny? The way they change the scene and make fun of themselves... And the way Colin's always the woman for some reason lol.

Then there's another game called 'Quick Change' that's also incredibly hilarious..

Oh my goodness, when Colin did that whole "We want to make millions" so slowly cause he didn't know what to say.... And the part about being a giraffe choreographer LOL. What normal person comes up with this stuff? :D

Oh but the video that makes me laugh til I cry every single time I watch it has to be this video of a game called 'Sit, Stand and Bend'. This is the most hilarious shit I've seen :)

Oh. My. God. I'm crying again lol.

Okay here's the last game I promise (for this post). See they have this game called the 'Irish Drinking Song' that usually goes something like this.

Buuuuut, there was just this once that it went a little out of control. The result? I cried again lol.

Oh goodness gracious. Ryan's face when he was singing gibberish....then Colin with his "Meowwww". LMFAO

Okay, I think I've had enough of laughing for the week lol.

So what else have I been up to? Well nothing much to be honest. Oh but I do have an update about a certain someone I haven't written about in quite some time. You see, there was a certain Mr. JC Chasez in a documentary recently about 9/11 called 'When Pop Culture Saved America'. Before this video on Youtube came to my knowledge, I suppose I had a certain hope that one day I would finally get over JC, stop stalking him from a distance and become, well a normal person :s It was looking hopeful too. I had stopped watching his videos for a while...okay fine I didn't stop but I did slow down a lot...okay I slowed down a little...okay FINE you got me I hadn't slowed down at all. What was my point again?

Oh right, becoming a normal person. So yes, the hope was there. Distant and very dim but at least the hope was there. And then I just had to watch this video la.

WHY JC Chasez, do you have to be so thoughtful?? And sweet?? And funny and adorable and HOT?? WHY????

I'm never getting over JC Chasez. I am doomed to forever stalk him and fall even more madly in love with him and never be a normal person.

What an uplifting thought :s

Oh well, why fight it? Speaking of JC, something very weird is happening to my friends. I think they've been spending too much time around me and my JC madness. First Larry says that JC is, and I quote, "awesome". Then Joanna agrees with me that he's cute, only she's not crazy about him like I am. But the worst shocker of them all - I was talking to Shu before our Loss Models paper on Monday and you know what she said. I was rambling on about how awesome JC is and suddenly, unbidden, SHU (who always hated JC for no apparent reason) said "Yeah, he's hot." I almost dropped dead.

After a while when I had recovered from the shock somewhat, I was talking to her about how perfect he was (Jeez I really talk about JC too much, and before Loss Models final summore, as if I was so prepared for the paper) and she actually agreed with me!! She caught herself though and instead of saying 'Yeah' it came out as a sort of "Yeaowwww". Lol just the entertainment I needed before Loss Models.

Oh on a non-JC-related issue, the fourth and final book of the Inheritance cycle will finally be released in November!! That is, it's being released in the US and the UK in November. Who knows how long it'll take to reach Malaysia :s

And what is the Inheritance cycle, you ask? Well, remember that god awful movie 'Eragon' that came out a couple of years ago?

Ringing any bells? Well Eragon is the first book of the Inheritance cycle, followed by Eldest, then Brisingr. The fourth, called Inheritance (aptly named), as mentioned earlier will finally be out in November after a long, long three year wait. I actually wondered if the author had given up on the series lol. Anyway, although the movie was rubbish the books really are quite interesting. Sadly, that's usually the case.

I suppose that's all I wanted to blog about. Either that or I'm just really tired. I really should study tomorrow. Anyway cheerio, all.

A Hopelessly Biased Competition

Please take note that in this blog post there are spoilers for Season 3 of the BBC series 'Merlin' as well as Season 1 of 'Camelot'. Yes, Larry, that means you.

It has been so long since I blogged :s So now that I've been inspired to add to my random collection of thoughts, here I am.

So recently I've finally caught up with the latest season of 'Merlin'. I just love the Arthurian legend so yeah, watching 'Merlin' is a rare treat for me. And since I haven't been watching the accursed channel 702 since they changed it from Hallmark to 'Diva', I completely missed it when they aired Season 3 of 'Merlin'. What a damned shame. Because Season 3 is freakishly awesome.

Even more recently, when I finished watching Season 3 of 'Merlin', I started watching this newer show 'Camelot' which of course is based in Arthurian legend too. Obviously I couldn't help myself and started watching it. 'Camelot' is....well let's just compare the two before I get into that, shall we?

Merlin vs Camelot

1. Obviously the first thing I noticed was the differences in the Merlins.

First take a look at the Merlin from 'Merlin'.

Isn't he adorable?

'Merlin' centres on a younger Merlin (played by Colin Morgan) and Arthur and Guinevere and well...everyone else so the Merlin we see here is a young boy, still struggling with his abilities with magic (he gets pretty good at it and there's magic in almost every episode, don't worry) and decision making. He is innocent to the point of naivete which makes him hopelessly endearing. He's also funny and is very conscientious, hesitating even to kill his enemies. And since magic was forbidden at the time, he has to resort to protecting Arthur by being his servant. He complains about Arthur's mistreatment of him often, only making me love him even more. It doesn't hurt that he's also kinda cute in a nerdy, helpless kinda way. I love Merlin from 'Merlin'.

Now let's take a look at the Merlin from 'Camelot'.

Did you just get freaked out? I sure did.

The Merlin from 'Camelot' (played by Joseph Fiennes) is a much darker and more complex character (as the picture so aptly shows *shudder*). He's very mysterious, not revealing much about himself and operating very...well, mysteriously. Apparently he doesn't age, so no one knows how old he is. Arthur thinks he's been around since the Romans were in Britain so that makes him pretty old. And he's quite useless, he never uses magic. At least he didn't until the fourth episode, by which time I was resigned to the fact that 'Camelot' Merlin was too useless for words. And guess what? When he finally starts to use magic (for a full minute and a half too), he suddenly becomes this lying, murderous psychopath. Riiiight. But he's pretty compelling and you want to know what's behind the intrigue that surrounds his character. And obviously Joseph Fiennes who plays him is unbelievably hot. He looks better with hair, but oh well.

Conclusion:
This one's a tough one.

I'm gonna have to go with Merlin from 'Merlin' though. Those baby blues had me the first time I saw them :)

So far we have the score at 1-0 to 'Merlin.

2. Let's compare Arthurs next :)

So here's the Arthur from 'Merlin'.

Oh. Be still, my beating heart. He is cute.

Okay, okay I'm calming down. But he is cute. The Arthur from 'Merlin' (played by Bradley James) is basically a spoilt prince (who tortures Merlin), but with an honest and fair judgement. Simply put, he's noble. And cute. He constantly has to put up with the stress of living up to his father's image as King of Camelot. And he's the one who does all the dangerous work for his father (who does nothing but sit in his throne and panic at the slightest hint of magic, but we'll come back to that later), going on quests and saving Camelot. He's the best swordsman in the series so far. He's slightly dense obviously, since Merlin gets away with performing so much magic right under his nose. And though he makes fun of Merlin a lot, he's very loyal to him, which makes him even cuter. In the third season he becomes unbearably hot as his character evolves to become more kingly than princely. Arthur's pretty awesome.

So now here's the Arthur from 'Camelot'.

Okay. No need for my heart to be still or anything.

Arthur from 'Camelot' (played by Jamie Campbell Bower) annoys me. But before that, let me attempt to be unbiased. The Arthur from 'Camelot' was raised not knowing that he was heir to the throne. He was raised on a...farm? I don't know la but whatever it was, he didn't know King Uther Pendragon was his father. So he's a nobody. But when Merlin appears to tell him who he really is and stuff, he suddenly becomes Mr. I'm All That. This guy, who has a country to run and very little time for much else, can even yell at Merlin, threaten to kill him, think he knows more than him...*sigh*. So despite being a nobody, he's still a spoilt brat. But the biggest problem I have with him is that he has such huge things to worry about, what with having to turn a country's allegiance to him and all, but you know what he's concerned about? Guinevere. All he cares about is having sex and stealing her away from one of his knights, Sir Leontes, who she is married to. Urgh. Arthur sucks.

Conclusion:
I have to say, this one wasn't all that difficult. At all.

This one goes to *drumroll* Arthur from 'Merlin'!!!

And 2-0 to 'Merlin'!

3. Now let's take a look at the Guineveres.

This is the Guinevere from 'Merlin'.

So in 'Merlin' Guinevere (played by Angel Coulby), best known as Gwen, is actually a servant girl to Uther's ward, Morgana. She's really sweet and genuine. And the best part is, she's sensible. She's not the weepy type, even when Arthur was going to get married to someone else. She's strong and of course, unquestionably loyal to Arthur and has more faith in him than anyone else. Her loyalties are questioned more than once, but she always endures. Only thing is, everyone seems to fall in love with her lol. First Lancelot, then Arthur, then Gwaine...but oh well.

Then there's Guinevere from 'Camelot'.

Yes. She is incredibly pretty.

Guinevere (played by Tamsin Egerton) here is betrothed to one of Arthur's knights who she eventually marries. But she's attracted to Arthur for goodness knows what reason. And yes, she cheats on her husband with Arthur and then tries to be all Zen about it. She tries hard to come off as a kick-ass strong heroine type, but fails quite miserably. It may have something to do with the fact that she always looks like she's about to burst into tears. I don't know, I just hated her on sight.

Conclusion:
Is there even a doubt?

Guinevere of 'Merlin' I crown thee the true Queen of Camelot.

Oh wow, 'Merlin' really is running away with the prize at 3-0.

4. Next we have the evil witches of both the series.

Firstly, Lady Morgana of 'Merlin'.

What it comes down to is that Lady Morgana (played by Katie McGrath) is a spoilt rich kid with daddy issues. She's really pretty and she has pretty much everything but when she finds out that she has magic, she starts to hate herself because being King Uther's ward, she has grown up with the idea that magic is wrong and dirty and generally despised. So she then becomes evil and works against Uther to take the throne herself. Mid-season of Season 3, she finds out it won't be too difficult because Uther is her biological father. She makes the transition from good to evil pretty well. But sometimes she goes over the top. Morgana hating Uther is understandable of course, but suddenly she wants Arthur, who has done her no wrong, dead as well. And she becomes a little too heartless a little too fast. Her acting got a little lame in Season 3 too; all I saw was that stupid evil smirk on her face. It soon lost its power. So...Morgana isn't awful or anything, she just wasn't that convincing to me.

Then we have Morgan le Fay from 'Camelot'.

I have to say, the role of Morgan was carried out to perfection by Eva Green. She was totally believable as an evil, unfeeling and callous witch. She was banished by her own father so here the issues between King Uther and Morgan are a bit more obvious. She takes the more direct approach to taking the throne, killing Uther in the very first episode. And she's also devious and way more cunning than Morgana from 'Merlin'. She hatches her own plots while Morgana relies heavily on her magical ally, Morgause for schemes to take over the throne. Morgan gives me chills.

Conclusion:
This one was slightly tricky.

I sort of like them both but I'm gonna have to go with Morgan from 'Camelot'.

So now the score stands at 3-1 to 'Merlin'.

5. Now let's take a look at the good stuff. The chemistry between Arthur and Guinevere.

Okay so with Merlin it was kind of weird at first cause Guinevere had a crush on Merlin at first lol. And Arthur and Guinevere didn't even notice each other until this particular episode. Arthur was trying to prove to the kingdom that he didn't win tournaments and stuff because he was prince and people lost to him on purpose. So he had to stay at Gwen's house for some time so that he wouldn't be seen and suddenly...this happened.

It was so sweet :) Oh and I like this one too.

I love how they have this very innocent kind of love. And they're so sweet together.

Then we have Arthur and Guinevere from 'Camelot'.

Their story is less complex and all about sex. First he had a dream about her. The wet kind. Then they met and talked and then they had sex and then she got married to someone else. They don't really have that chemistry. When I see them its like looking at a teenage boy with his school teacher. Not in a good way.

Conclusion:
This one wasn't too difficult either.

Arthur and Gwen from 'Merlin' of course. Hopelessly biased, remember?

6. I think the funniest part of my entire post is right here. The dynamic between Arthur and Merlin.

Adorableness aside, Arthur and Merlin have a very lighthearted relationship in Merlin. But Merlin is devoted to Arthur and stands by him, while Arthur tries to hide the fact that he has a soft spot for Merlin. The way they communicate makes you think of brothers of sorts rather than master and servant.

This is one of my favourite videos where Merlin transforms himself with an aging spell to save Gwen from being burnt at the stake.

Goodness, these two are hilarious.

And then we have Arthur and Merlin from 'Camelot'.

Arthur and Merlin have a very serious and volatile relationship in 'Camelot'. There is not a single light moment, everything's dark and sad and tragic. It's quite depressing, really. Their communication basically consists of Merlin telling Arthur what to do and Arthur questioning everything that Merlin says. I couldn't find any videos, not that I looked very hard lol.

Conclusion:
Definitely the easiest choice.

And so Merlin wins with a whopping score of 5-1 :D

Okay now let me just say, this part I couldn't compare because only one series has it. But I have to mention it, I just have to. Watch this video and you'll know.

Oh the perfection that is Lancelot. That smile rocks my world upside down and inside out.

Lancelot alone could bring 5 points to the score. *drool* Not only is he hot, he's...well he's hot la. And 'Camelot' doesn't even have a Lancelot. It's practically a crime.

So there we go. With Lancelot, 'Merlin' wins my little biased competition, thrashing 'Camelot' 6-1. Congratulations 'Merlin'.

A Happy Birthday

Wow. Crazy thought. Somewhere on the other side of the world, JC Chasez will be celebrating his birthday today. I'm so becoming a crazy stalker fan. So yes, it is the 8th of August, JC's birthday. He is...wow he's thirty-five. Thirty-five. But who cares, he's still just as hot as he was all those years ago on *NSync. If possible he's gotten even hotter with age. Yikes.

So anyway, I would just like to dedicate what I'm sure is going to be a shit-long post to the ever adorable, ever adored Mr. JC Chasez, without whom I would have way too much spare time to do useless things like study and do my chores :)

To all of you who never understood why I was madly in love with JC Chasez, I am about to start the attempt of a lifetime to explain it. It wasn't easy; there were just too many reasons. But if I don't try now I suppose I never will. And yes, I realise that I am extremely biased so I'm gonna let 'JC' do the talking. Figuratively of course.

A Nice Lazy Sunday

Well it's the end of the weekend. I had a pretty good one.

Today was normal I guess. Just went to church, stayed back after 8.30 service cause Leanne said she was coming. Thank goodness she did cause she came in time to save me from an hour long lecture from one of our church members :s So I was listening to the prologue of my lecture then when I was released and I was walking towards service this African guy comes up to me from the Book Corner and hands me a card, saying it was for me. It was super freaky. I thought he had been looking at me funny when I kept passing by that day but....*shudder*

So yeah I was hoping against hope that it was something that Auntie Jessica needed me to pass to mom or something but...no such luck. Let's just leave it at that.

Anyway lunch was nice :) Joash, Stephanie, Chris and me went to A&W and I had junk food after so long. And then as usual we'll never just eat and leave, we sat there and talked and laughed and only got home at around 4. After which I proceeded to sleep the rest of the afternoon away. When I woke up it was like magic; dinner was ready and no one was mad at me for sleeping until so late :)

I just watched the finale of Masterchef Australia today. Callum, who was my favourite of them all didn't win :( But he did get a pretty amazing prize in the end so yeah I was happy :)

And I just realised that Callum's name is Callum Hann which sounds so incredibly sexy and he has a blog that he apparently updates still. So yay :D Here it is.

A Funny Saturday

Last night I had an awesome dream. I was a recipient of an awesome gift. An iPhone. And a Blackberry. And other awesome gifts. I was also at church sitting outside in the rain at a table in the parking lot with mom asking me why we weren't having bible study but let's forget that part. So yeah, I woke up in an incredibly good mood.

Somewhere between getting breakfast while sis was dusting the dining room (what??) and sitting to have breakfast in the living room while she attempted to clean the fan (HUH??? Did it possibly occur to her that cleaning the fan was not done while people were eating there? Lol!!) and hanging out the clothes and cleaning all the fans and sweeping the floor and screaming at Joash to get off his butt and do something and being so tired I almost died my good mood disappeared. Well, no surprise there lol.

I had a very funny thought when I was cleaning the fan in mom and dad's room. By this time I had already been at my chores for about an hour so I was all sweaty and disgusting. So I'm up there, my head next to the blades of the fan, standing very unstably on the ladder when I feel the sweat rolling down my back and I think to myself, "Damn, it's really hot. I should switch on the fan."

LOL. No, no I do not have a death wish. All that stress of impending finals must be getting to me. My mind is slowly...well, being lost.

The entire afternoon just rolled by without me realising that I was supposed to be studying for my Financial Econs test next week. I was watching a stupid Hindi movie on TV2 cause there was absolutely nothing else on called 'Do Knot Disturb'. It was the dumbest shit I've seen in a while now and I wished Shu and Larry were there so that we could all laugh at its ridiculousness and bitch about how Hindi movies suck. I didn't bother to watch the end, I switched channels to TV3 to watch another Hindi movie called 'Kambakktht Ishq'. I don't know what material they had on these people but they somehow convinced Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh to make special appearances. The movie sucked of course, but it was far better than bloody 'Do Knot Disturb'.

In the evening the whole family went for Uncle Joseph Manuel's birthday party at Selangor Club. It was really fun. It was an open bar (ahem, ahem) and the food was awesome. I've never tasted better fried brinjals with yogurt, or aloo ghobi, or fish cutlets :D And towards the end Auntie Jessica started dancing with everyone; dad, Uncle Tony, Rev Andrew. It was hilarious :D

Then when we came home mom, sis and me went through the four boxes of stuff that this church member, Karen Abraham was giving away. It was all this absolutely gorgeous clothes, most of which couldn't fit me. Which obviously renewed my zeal to lose some weight already. So yeah, I have new clothes now. Whoopeeee :D

Speaking of Karen Abraham, the church recently started this Home Fellowship thing, where church members meet in each other's houses and have little bible studies and have food and a good time. So yeah our particular group, who meets in Karen Abraham's house, just started on Wednesday. It was really fun, surprisingly. I thought it would be extremely boring and we'd have absolutely nothing to do there but I'm actually looking forward to the next meeting! We had awesome food and the bible study was kept very short. So it was mostly food and talking and wine. My kind of gathering :)

One funny moment was after the bible study was over, when Auntie Karen and Uncle Indra, her husband, asked if I wanted more wine. When I said yeah sure, mom was all like hey you have class in the morning. I was so surprised cause mom was having wine and she had to go teach a class the next day. All I had to do was sit in a class where the lecturer wasn't gonna bother whether I was paying attention or not. And my sister was already sitting there with a glass full and she had to go to the hospital the next day for her placement and treat patients. Sure Ma, I'm the one you should worry about lol.

Anyway tomorrow's church day. People better come. Oh wait, I mean later today :)

By the way, I've never really been a fan of Rihanna. I found her voice unremarkable and very lazy-sounding which used to piss the hell outta me. The only thing that saved her was the fact that her songs were catchy and extremely addictive. But this song I gotta admit that I really love. Maybe Rihanna ain't that bad after all.

A Post About How I Suck

This morning, I was doing my online quiz at home. I was pretty much done too. And then my connection decided to die on me and all my answers disappeared. And I only have one attempt at the quiz. When I later managed to log back in, I discovered that my time had still gone on ticking and I only had like 24 minutes left. Which is not a lot when it comes to Loss Models. And in the end, just when I clicked on submit...

My connection died on me again.

I was acting like a spaz, running back and forth between my modem and my laptop. And finally when there was like seconds left, my connection made its triumphant return to life. Just in time for me to log back in to my quiz, key in one answer, and watch the page transform into my quiz review, saying that I had gotten 0 out of 10. Aren't I awesome?

Then I realised that Shu and I were gonna be late for Business Law seeing as I spent so much time doing my online quiz and I hadn't done any chores yet. So while I had my shower Shu hung out the clothes and did my chores all, which was so nice of her.

Anyway I emailed my lecturer telling him what happened with my online quiz and he reset it for me. I have to remember to thank him later. So I just did it and got 5 out of 10. Aren't I awesome?

Oh, and I watched Captain America today with Aaron and Li Yeng. I was so looking forward to it and well, it didn't rock my world or anything. Such a disappointment.

You know what did rock my world though? The knowledge that it is officially the second day of JC month at jc-chasez.net! :) They're posting like a video a day on the website (It's a fansite, obviously), and as of today, they're posting videos that I've never seen before so yay. The videos aren't that great, it was mostly me staring at JC. But I did see something interesting.

It seems JC came on stage with Matthew Morrison again, this time in New York, to perform a duet (With Matthew Morrison) of 'This I Promise You' and then a solo 'Don't Stop Believing'. He just gets better every time I hear him.

Oh my goodness, I have the craziest friends.

Today Larry posted a video on my wall of the ICONic Boyz. It was the video of their Justin Bieber performance. And obviously the video was really funny and we were soon both hating on D-Trix and his kiss ass routine. Then Shu came along and said how cute ICONic Boyz were of course and we started showing her video after video of the performances from America's Best Dance Crew season 6. So just to be clear here, Shu spent I don't know how long watching ABDC season 6 videos. Probably most of her evening.

So then I'm getting all mad at D-Trix, falling madly in love with Daniel Torres again, also known as the hunk with red and green hair from 787 crew, getting all sad that 787 got eliminated, drooling over the way JC laughs....*sigh*

And whenever I try to think about how it started, I keep coming back to you. To that day, that conversation and that LINK. That link that changed my life for the next year. A Truly 'I Did Absolutely Nothing' Weekend

Yes, even today I did pretty much nothing lol.

Went to church in the morning as usual. Then after service had a 'family meeting' after so long. It was nice la. But then waited and waited and waited in the courtyard for all my clown friends. And it turns out they all decided not to come to church today :s There flew all my plans for lunch. And Joash finally decided to come home and rest today. Good for him. He can get better now.

So went to Brickfields with mom and sis to get our saree blouses done for dad's consecration in October. Yup, we plan way ahead, we Selvarajs. Or at least, mom does. I asked her this morning over breakfast if I should give the shop the material for a Punjabi suit that I've been hanging on to for quite some time now cause well, we haven't gone to make saree blouses since Christmas. And you know what she said? That it would depend which I'm going to be wearing to dad's consecration. In October.

I couldn't help but laugh when I asked her if she wanted me to decide what to wear to dad's consecration right then. And she in all seriousness told me that yeah, I probably should. LOL It's in October.

Speaking of which, how scary. I'm soon going to be known as the Assistant Bishop's daughter. As if being the Dean's daughter wasn't scary enough, right? Oh well.

After the saree blouse thing, just had lunch with mom and sis in Brickfields. Going to Brickfields always makes me feel so Indian. Getting saree blouses sewn, lunch at Seetharam. The only downside was that I barely understood what the saree-blouse-lady was saying to me when I chose the design for my saree blouse. Kept turning to mom to ask what she was saying. Like such a dumbass.

Ah yes, since we're on the topic of mom. People in my family seem to have developed this annoying habit of telling me important information when I'm sitting in my room with my earphones on. They don't seem to understand that I listen to my music and watch my shows at a very high volume to block out their voices. And here's the weird part. They don't even stop at the door to give me the information. They just walk past my room, not even looking at me, talking as they go. How I know they're talking to me? :s And they don't even wait for me to give some verbal or non-verbal indication that I've heard them. I think it's some kind of experiment they're conducting :s No wonder la mom thinks I'm rude lol. If she thinks I can hear her that means all this while whenever she says something to me, I just completely ignore her. LOL I wonder how on earth I've gotten away with it for so long.

So yeah, this morning I saw sis taking out sarees all and I was wondering what on earth she was doing. So I asked her and she was like, "I told you last night what." And obviously I said she didn't. And you know what she said?

LOL then why didn't she check for some reaction from me? A nod, a gesture telling her to shut up cause I was watching Friends, something. But no, I didn't even know she had opened her mouth. My family are clowns la.

Only Joash knows how to tell me something when I have my earphones on. He'll come into my room, wave his fingers two inches away from my face, indicate that I should take off my earphones even when I tell him I'm not playing any music and can hear him perfectly fine with the earphones on. But no, he doesn't take that for an answer and waits until my earphones are off before telling me what he needs to say. That's how you gotta do it, familia!

So I've been watching ABDC season six performances since I got home from lunch. Yup, all afternoon. I miss watching 787 crew, they were so awesome. Every single performance had my jaw on the floor. And Daniel Torres is just so adorable despite the red and green hair. Anyway I found this fairly recent performance where they were qualifying for Hip Hop International 2011, I think. It's not as awesome as their ABDC performances and the quality ain't great. But hey, it's 787 and they're awesome so yeah :D

And on that note, I am off for the day.

Oh by the way, remember that Loss Models online exam that I was so happy the deadline got extended for? I just saw Puven, this really smart guy from my batch at UTAR post on his Facebook that it was a disaster. If it was a disaster for him, I really should just throw in the towel now. Die.

A Nice, Relaxing Saturday

I feel like I barely did anything today. But I still have so much to blog about :)

So woke up this morning, did chores as usual, then prepared to do nothing for the rest of the day. And do nothing I did. So first of all I thought I'd catch up with my favourite crew from America's Best Dance Crew season 6, namely 787 crew. They're this awesome dance crew from Puerto Rico and now they're at this competition at Las Vegas called Hip Hop International. And today they got through to the finals!! Woohoo!!!

Anyway they were in 7th place, and there were two other crews from ABDC season 6 too, ReQuest in second place and Instant Noodles (urgh) at fifth place. How 787 who are like effing awesome were in seventh place while Instant Noodles got to fifth escapes me. But moving on, they did this interview and met up with some old friends from ABDC and the camaraderie seemed so genuine it made me smile. So here it is, 787 crew (my favourite being Daniel "Phantom" Torres of course, the red haired one) and two of the guys from my old favourites, the Iconic Boyz :)

Aren't they all just adorable? Okay fine I meant the two kids from Iconic Boyz. Oh and Daniel Torres of course :)

Okay what did I do after that? Ah yes, I realised that I have Friends seasons one through 5 which I still haven't finished watching. I'm in season two right now, and my goodness no show cracks me up like Friends. I was watching the episode where Ross finds out that Rachel has feelings for him and I could not stop laughing at this scene. Check it out.

Damn the writers of the show must have been hilarious!
Ross: You're over me? When were you....under me?

And then as if that weren't enough...
Rachel: Chandler told me.
Ross: When did he when did he when did he?
LOL

Then after that I was watching the next episode, after Ross and Rachel first kissed. The differences between how the girls talked about it and the guys talked about it was hilarious. Let's analyze the situation shall we?

First, the girls.

Rachel: Ross kissed me!
Phoebe: NO!
Monica: Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!
Rachel: It was unbelievable!
Monica: Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!
Phoebe: Okay, all right, we want to hear everything. Monica, get the wine and unplug the phone. Rachel, does this end well or do we need to get tissues?
Rachel: Ohhhh it ended very well.
Monica: (getting the wine) Do not start without me, do not start without me!!
Phoebe: Okay, all right, let's hear about the kiss. Was it like a soft brush against your lips or was it like a, like a 'I gotta have you now' kinda thing?
Rachel: Well, at first it was really intense, you know. And then, oh and then we just sort of sunk into it.
Phoebe: Okay, was he holding you? Or was his hands on your back or...?
Rachel: No, actually first they started out on my waist, and then they slid up and they were in my hair.
Monica and Phoebe: Ohhhh.....

Then we have the guys.

Ross: And then uh, and then I kissed her.
Joey: Tongue?
Ross: Yeah.
Joey: Cool.
(They all nod and eat their pizza)

LOL Friends is so awesome.

After that I went to watch tv for a while to watch this episode of Masterchef Australia that I missed during the week. All the contestants had to cook their signature dishes and as usual I was rooting for Alvin, my favourite comedian, and Callum, that adorable little boy. Okay, he's not a little boy but he certainly is adorable enough to be one :) So anyway, Callum made an awesome dish and seeing as they had to serve 5 people, did make enough for everyone. Sadly, he didn't plate up most of his stuff on time so his dishes were incomplete. The judges were really nice though, they shared their stuff so that everyone could taste his dish. So obviously when the time came for the contestants to hear who got into the bottom three, poor Callum thought he was dead meat for sure. See what happens. For all you people who feel as malas as I did to watch the whole thing, start at 3:00 :)

Hehe the look on his face. And the things he said after that..."I don't think I've ever been so shocked in my life. I'm still trying to compute whether the judges actually said my name or not or if it was just me, hoping that they would." He's adorable and he's funny :)

After that, well I just went back to Friends. I'm still in Season 2, enjoying myself. So yes, that's how I wasted an entire day doing nothing. Oh well, it is Saturday after all. A day meant to be wasted. For me at least. I didn't see Joash the whole day, he stole the car and was out of the house before I woke up and just got back home. May he get sicker until he figures out that he needs to rest to recover from a sickness, not drive himself into the ground. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a future workaholic on our hands. Who knew, right?

So now...I guess I'm done blogging for the day. But before I go, just one more time.

*sigh* Look at me, sometimes wondering why I'm madly in love with JC. Why do I even bother?

An Interesting Day

Yeah interesting it was. But the price of interest, let me tell you, is energy. I'm so freaking tired!!

We were handing in our Business Law assignment today. What a disaster it was. Spent the whole day tweaking and re-tweaking it and it still ended up looking horrible. The amount of effort that went into those 50-odd pages...

The sleepless nights I spent doing my part which included explaining an entire amendment act, the two hours of Loss Models that I didn't pay attention in cause I was more concerned about Shu finishing off her part of the assignment, the hour of Financial Econs that I didn't pay attention in... Okay fine that was because watching Aaron playing Angry Birds then stealing his phone to play Fruit Ninja was too much fun, but let's get back to the amount of effort that went into my Business Law assignment.

Then the hours spent in the computer lab in SE block trying to get the stupid webpages to fit nicely into a Word document, the stress of the deadline creeping up on me and Shu, making me yell at her a whole lot more than usual (sorry sayang, I don't know how you put up with me), then the walk to TBR under the hot freaking sun to print the assignment and tape bind it, the walk back to UTAR under the hot sun to pass up the assignment... and finally the waltz into class (an hour and a half late) to pass up the damn thing. But wait, that's not all. Shu decides to check the assignment one last time so she opens it, turns to me and just says one word. "Darling...." And it hit me.

We didn't print out the last webpage which wouldn't fit onto the Word document so needed to be printed out separately. And I had estimated what page it would be all and confidently typed with my answers to 'refer to page 54 for full attachment of terms and conditions'. Ah, the mythical page 54 that was doomed to never be in existence. The lecturer is either gonna laugh or cry when she sees the assignment. I hope she has a good sense of humour.

Then it was back home to sit for the Loss Models online exam which I was completely unprepared for. And just when I was already so tense and needed some peace and quiet at home, Joash brought like half his class back home to do some shooting thing they had to do. *sigh* But yes, Loss Models. I was all pumped up and energized (okay that's a lie, I was so tired and sleepy by then) to study and get it done. But before that I just had to watch Masterchef Australia, which has become my new vice. This guy Alvin is just so funny and I just found out that he grew up in Malaysia! No surprise there though. Malaysians always run off to Australia lol. And there's another guy, Callum who's just too adorable for words. And the food *drool*. I'm always hungry after watching it but that's my only qualm :)

There's this one part where Alvin was so adorable. Their challenge was to make a macaroon tower and he was really nervous about it. Apparently he had tried making macaroons before and it was a disaster. But at the end, his was the best among the 4 contestants who had taken the challenge!

So yes, after Masterchef was over was when I really started to panic. I wasn't ready for Loss Models!!! So I sat in my room and shut the door to sit and study. But that's when suddenly Sanjeev is texting me la, Chris is calling me la. And obviously I'll take any reason to procrastinate studying so I'll layan them all. Then God's grace shone upon me in the form of a phone call from Anna (oh what a coincidence) Grace, telling me that the deadline for the online exam had been extended to Tuesday.

Hallelujah!!

So I had my dinner in a relatively calmer state of mind. Oh but I had such an embarassingly awkward moment today. It is awkward coming outta the shower holding your towel and dirty clothes in front of a kitchenful of strangers who happen to be your brother's college friends :s

So here I am, jobless again. I can't believe I'm done blogging, I thought I had so much to blog about. Ah well, maybe I'm just getting better at vomiting out what I want to say :)

A Post-Assignment De-Stresser

Okay, I admit my assignment isn't quite done yet. But in my defense, my role in it is quite a passive one at the moment so I might as well blog while I'm in the mood :)

So first of all, I have a shocking announcement to make. Truth be told, I'm actually a little ashamed of admitting this, but oh well, this is my blog and I really should be honest. *sigh* I shouldn't have given in to temptation, peer pressure, whatever it is people choose to call it. I know that but...it was just too hard. Okay, okay I'm getting to the point now. I, Ellana Selvaraj....

Have been wearing slippers to uni all week.

Three years at UTAR finally got to me. I am now no better than all the others there who don't give a damn how they look when they go to uni. Then again most people have probably already figured that out. And besides, nobody even noticed I was wearing slippers until I pointed it out. So nobody else cares how I look either. So yeah. Whatever.

Moving on. I'm finally done with my part in the Business Law assignment. I'd blog about it but I'm so tired of seeing the accursed words 'exclusion clause'. I swear I will die if I have to type it out one more time.

And of course Malaysia didn't beat Singapore. I would have watched the match but I might have jinxed it, so I didn't. I was grocery shopping with mom and sis anyway. Yes, as Malaysia attempted to make history I was pushing a trolley around Jusco. What else is new?

Joash made his escape, what with him coughing up his lungs and all. He's trying to latch on to the power of his mind to convince himself he's not sick but so far it's not working. I tried to get him to stay home tomorrow and rest but to no avail. Apparently his classes are just that interesting. Damn. I'd never put that much effort into going for Survival Models or Financial Econs :s

Oh but I did make history today. Shu came over and she was sleepy so I was talking my mouth off about *NSync and how much I'm madly in love with JC when a miracle happened. Apparently, dumbass that I am, I never actually really tried to get Shu to listen to *NSync. I played her 'O Holy Night' once. And that was all it took.

She got goosebumps when she heard it. Goose-freaking-bumps. Even Shu can't resist the awesome 5 part harmonies that is *NSync. If I can convert Shu, I can take over the world :D

Speaking of *NSYNC..... *wide ass smile*

Nobody panic. I just found this awesome blues version of 'I Want You Back' which I can't believe I haven't heard before. Here's the original version, which I also love obviously because JC Chasez looks so gorgeous.

It's been almost a year! I'm still not over him. This is highly unusual by the way. I thought he was just a phase. I had plenty of phases before; I had a James Franco phase, an Eminem phase, a Cristiano Ronaldo phase, so many la. But none have lasted this long. I'm crazy, I know.

So yes, I'm tired now. At least I have a sort of understandable blog update. That's not bad for a post that was written at 12am :) Oh but before I go, let's just hear it one last time. For today, that is :)

An Unnecessary Update

There's nothing much I have to say, but I just feel like blogging today. Been trying to come up with something to blog about that has nothing to do with JC Chasez. It's been kinda difficult though, watching him all afternoon and finding a video that has the most adorable clips of him in interviews and when he's performing and...

Gosh I keep doing that! I absolutely swear to myself that I'm not going to mention JC then I just....do. Anyway I've been thinking of what to blog about and here are some ideas I immediately tossed out for various reasons:

I didn't want to even think about that stupid tv show, let alone blog about it because I would have gone into a rage about how none of the characters are even vaguely likeable except for Angela and Hodgins. And about how Bones is a perasan, self absorbed, unfeeling....you know what? Let's not get into that right now.

Why Ted Mosby Is A Woman
Reasoning:
He just is. There wasn't any explanation necessary so it would have been quite a pointless post. What else is new, right?

How To Get A Shallow Guy's Attention

Why bother? There aren't any guys around who aren't shallow lol.

So yes, here I am, clueless about what to blog about. Let me look around my room for inspiration. Right next to my laptop I have a card that Joash gave me. It's the mechanic near the house where I'll be taking Max tomorrow to get his side view mirror reattached. I hope they're nice to him :s

What else? Ah a mere foot away we have this book that I borrowed from the library. Yes, the UTAR library believe it or not. It's a James Patterson bestseller called 'Roses are Red'. And no it is not what it sounds like. And what it sounds like would be some sappy love story. It's actually a thriller kinda thing. Bank robberies gone wrong, detectives, crime solving and all that jazz. It's part of a series about this detective called Alex Cross, who seems to be a favourite of Patterson's. It sounds pretty interesting so far. Thank goodness I was able to put it down.

James Patterson also has another pretty interesting series about another detective, a woman this time. What's her name again? Detective Lindsay...Monroe? No, that's the character from CSI: New York. Okay I just Googled it, its the Lindsay Boxer series. Yes, that sounds right. That one's pretty interesting too, but the focus is on this Lindsay person and her group of women friends who include a medical examiner, a DA and a journalist who solve crimes together. Must be quite a topic to talk about over coffee with your friends, don't you think? Blood, gore and unsolved crimes. How delightful.

James Patterson is a good writer though. The last book I read by him, I couldn't put the bloody thing down. Luckily I had no tests I was supposed to be studying for.

Okay so other than the book we have nearby....my earphones. Which I just used to watch a pretty all right movie called 'Something Borrowed'. Romantic comedies. They're nothing but fluff, but it was okay. And besides, cute guy :)

Then we have...my phones. Using which I found out today that Lisa's precious baby Gray is admitted. He's severely dehydrated it seems. The poor thing. Get well soon, beautiful. I'm sure Velvet misses you.

Okay you know what? I'm tired and sleepy and thus, crapping. I'll probably do a better job of blogging tomorrow. Which means I probably won't proofread this post so if there are any grammar mistakes or spelling errors, please don't laugh :s Night, all.

A Happening Life...Kinda Part 3

Still in bed, everyone's still asleep, still listening to *NSync. This is the last post of the day, I promise :)

I injured Max today :( I drove to uni for this event at uni called Actuary Today. All the Actuarial Science students were 'compelled' to go by this lecturer who was organising the event. In other words, attendance was going to be taken and it was compulsory for us to attend at least one talk. Damn. So yes, Max is now missing a side view mirror. Yes, I drove home with one side view mirror sitting on my dashboard and the other side view mirror malfunctioning as it usually does. This stuff only happens to me.

So Qades somehow convinced me and Larry (with Larry it was easy, all Qades had to say was 'seven course dinner') to accompany him to this IET dinner tonight cause he was going to be getting some award. The IET is the Institute of Engineering and Technology. Yes, it was an engineers event. And I'm a student of Actuarial Science. But you see, I so bodoh. I thought I was just keeping Qades company. Imagine my shock and surprise when we were driving there and Qades told us to just say we were engineering students if anyone asked.

Let me tell you, these people are engineers. If I were to say that I was doing an engineering course, I was sure they'd go on to ask me how my subjects were and what we've been doing in each subject. Being so immersed in Actuarial Science for the past 2 years, I haven't exactly thought to remember everything that Qades tells me about his course. But of course Larry had a panic attack much sooner than I did lol.

Larry was a nightmare today. At the dinner he kept getting so excited that he had to pretend to be an engineer. He started to...I can't even begin to describe his behaviour. Suffice it to say that I felt like Qades and I were the parents of a precocious toddler (the toddler being Larry of course) trying to make him behave himself at a formal event. Several times I had to stop myself from causing him bodily harm. Even Qades, who has the patience of a saint got annoyed lol.

On the bright side, Larry truly made me feel thankful for Joash today. Thank you, God, for giving me Joash instead of Larry. With Larry I would have gone bonkers about a decade and a half ago. Yes, I would have been 5 years old.

Anyway, we were sitting at a table with some of the engineering lecturers from the UTAR Kampar campus. They asked one too many questions about engineering so eventually Larry and I just stopped talking so that only Qades had to answer their questions. Goodness, they would have thought we were dumb or something.

Oh well, it was fun. No Larry, it was not fun because you made my life miserable all evening. Lol, I wouldn't do it again anytime soon though.

Okay, I'm done blogging. Oh look, it's 1.21am and I have to wake up early to go to church tomorrow. But I'm still listening to *NSync :s

A Happening Life...Kinda Part 2

Yes, I'm still listening to *NSync in bed while everyone's asleep. I forgot what I was about to blog about. Hmmm let's see what have I been up to lately? JC Chasez, the most depressing movie I've ever watched called Cold Mountain, watched the last Harry Potter movie (which was a Tamil movie in disguise), JC Chasez, hanging out a lot with Shu, JC Chasez, finally getting Joash to let me drive to uni, JC Chasez, worrying all week about cooking on Friday. Yes dinner on Friday was what I was going to blog about.

So on Friday Joash and I rushed home from class like crazy people. As soon as I got home mom asked me with this huge skeptical frown on her face what I was going to cook. That 'what do you think you're doing?' look on her face was scary shit. So yes, I had already prepared what was supposed to be a chocolate pudding and the salad by the time reinforcements (in the form of Larry and my sister) arrived. And thank goodness because Dad was getting cranky and the main course wasn't ready lol.

It didn't help that we had some err...issues with the fish.
1. There was too little! When I bought the fish it looked like so much and when it thawed it looked like...miniscule little pieces.
2. The fish kept tearing off in little pieces.
3. The oil loves my skin. Kept jumping on me whenever the fish went in the pan. Spent a lot of time with my hands under running water.

The fish was a huge success. After all that blood, sweat and tears, thank goodness it was a huge success. But Dad at one point got so impatient he threatened to leave to have dinner outside. He was just a little cranky. Hasn't finished his assignment. When it's done I swear I am going to fall on my knees and praise the good Lord for sparing us further agony. Oh well he felt bad about it later and got all loving and kind on me after everyone left.

Back to the fish, everyone loved it (except Joash who did nothing but harass me while I was cooking and then throw criticism at me once the food was done). But as usual I got a little over excited with the spiciness and ended up making everyone cry :D

The salad was another huge success. I got Larry eating salad. He HATES salad. So yes, that's one recipe worth keeping. The chocolate pudding was a major failure though lol. As Joash and Chris so kindly put it, it was just melted chocolate. Luckily Larry brought a hazelnut cake that he had baked. So we just coated the cake with my 'melted chocolate' and had that for dessert. Thank you Larry for saving the day :D

So dinner was fun :)

Stephanie had me and Joash scared shitless for a while. She was supposed to join us for dinner and told us around 9pm that she would let us know when she was near our place. And at 11pm she still wasn't here. We were taking it in turns calling her and panicking. Thank goodness at almost midnight she called to tell us that she had fallen asleep in the cab lol. She was lost somewhere in Subang of all places.

So that was dinner on Friday. We should have another one soon. Reyhan's gonna be on break soon and Leanne's sports day is over. As soon as everyone's free I am going to take full advantage and fill the house with screaming adolescents :)

I still have lots to type so I have just decided to make this a three part post.

I was watching this again for the millionth time today too. JC Chasez is so hot. And so funny. It's a collection of his comments as a judge on ABDC Season 5. And I hate that girl he found sexy. I just hate her. Okay fine I don't hate her. I just....hate her :s

Oh the perfection that is JC Chasez. He's so adorable, check out 1:19. I could watch him day in, day out and never get bored :)

A Happening Life...Kinda Part 1

Ah finally. One of those days when I feel like there's nothing to do but sit at home in bed while everyone's asleep listening to *NSync and BLOGGING :D I miss blogging. It sucks being so busy one week and then being free the next week so you feel like you have to take full advantage of being free and unfettered by impending tests (better known as doom). So yeah, obviously taking full advantage of being free does not involve blogging. Mostly it involves sitting around uni bugging people and then coming home and wondering what to do with myself lol. I'm so happening I know.

Last week was one crazy week. I had 3 tests again. One I did on Wednesday and the other two was on Friday. Guess what I did Thursday evening/night? I went to Bukit Jalil to watch Liverpool in training lol. I very optimistically brought my notes with me too. But then again I brought Qades so the two kinda cancel each other out. And yes, I sacrificed precious study time to watch a team I don't even like train. It would have been different if Steven Gerrard had been there though, he's kinda hot. Not to mention I only recognised like 3 people on the field :s But oh well, I had fun. Or rather, Qades, Stephanie, Joash and I had fun. Sis sat in one corner texting and Chris sat in another corner and forgot how to speak cause I never heard his voice lol.

Anyway we were sitting at Burger King having dinner (at 10 something too, I wonder how Joash survived his hunger pangs) saying how at least we saw Liverpool train when Bryan called and asked if Joash and I wanted to join him and Leanne to watch the match on Saturday. LOL

So Friday was my tests, which went pretty well considering I was out til dunno what time the night before and only studied like 3 pages when I got home before passing out in bed. And then that night pulak went out with Joash and Stephanie for Sham's birthday party. We didn't stay too late; parents suddenly got super paranoid and at 12.30 started texting me saying it was 'about time I got home'. What??? But oh well, at least I was glad to get out of the awkwardness of the situation. But 12.30 I ask you?

The next day was the Liverpool match. Joash and I were so tired before leaving that we were seriously like "Aiyo....must go ah?" I'm beginning to question if Joash really is a Liverpool fan. The training also he wanted to leave the stadium early cause he was hungry, the match also he didn't mind leaving home late. When MU was down, I was at the stadium at 2pm. And I didn't need to bring anything to entertain myself because my excitement was enough to keep me occupied right up to when the match started :) So yes, Joash's fan status is under serious doubt. We'll get back to that later.

The match was the most thrilling shit I've ever seen. I mean Malaysia looked like Hobbits next to the Liverfools but they played like I've never seen Malaysia play before. The passes were (there's no other word for it) beautiful. And the first goal...orgasmic. The sight of the entire stadium on its feet was awesome.

And then as usual on Sunday Joash and I will never come home right after service. Went to Mathai's for lunch with Stephanie and had awesome banana leaf. Of course I tried reaching Lisa but the girl never replies texts or picks up her phone. Got two numbers dunno for what. I tried calling Reyhan but that fella pulak not answering his phone also (he called me back on Tuesday lol).

So yes, by Sunday I was the knocked out kind of tired. And believe it or not, I didn't have any idea why lol. Thank goodness this week was pretty relaxing. No tests, just catching up (or trying to catch up rather) with my subjects. So far all my subjects are going pretty good. Except Financial Economics of course.

I just realised I have too much more to blog so I'm gonna do this in 2 parts. That sounds exciting. Yes I'm going to do that.

But before I go, I just have to post this here. I was just watching this video for the millionth time today. *sigh* Oh *NSync, do you guys not know you guys are so awesome that the music that you guys put out there just isn't enough?? A Busy Time

Oh my goodness my last blog post was on July 4th. No, no, my sudden revival of my blog has not taken a plunge. Believe it or not I have just been too damn busy.

I had three tests last week. In a week. There was the Loss Models online test, where even with my notes and tutorials scattered around me I made some awesome blunders, earning me a four out of ten. Yes. With my notes and tutorials to refer to. Four.

Then there's the ever awesome Financial Economics, the manifestation of all that is evil, the bane of my life, made to make my life miserable. Let's not even talk about that.

And then there was Business Law which I felt reasonably prepared for and at the last minute (We are talking the eleventh hour here people, Shu and I walked into the lecture hall and she was announcing it like half an hour before the test was supposed to start.) the test got cancelled. Isn't my life awesome?

Anyway, Saturday was Jenitha's 21st birthday party. It was the first birthday party that I had to miss this year. It sucked. Obviously there is no need to say why. It had to do with a CLEANliness issue going on here. Had something to do with YELLOW, YELLOW, DIRTY fellow. Okay, okay cutting the crap lol. The Bersih rally had almost all roads leading out of my place blocked so I was trapped at home. Needless to say, mom had us all on lockdown for the day. And yes, I could have studied. That is a fact. Here's another fact-I didn't study. You know when I studied?

Sunday morning at church while everyone was at 10.30 service.

Yup, that's right. Brought my notes to church again and studied a little. Until Joash decided he was bored enough to talk to me, that is. Before I knew it, Michael and Bryan and Chris and 'Bryan' were there and there went my hopes of studying. Then we were talking about going for lunch and in the end it was just me, Joash, Stephanie and Chris. Went to Bangsar for lunch at Nirwana's for a real finger licking good lunch.

Lunch. Huh, yeah right. Got home at 5 something. 'Lunch' lol.

But it was so much fun hanging out with Joash and the two Kumars. I have now decided to embark on a project to capture all of Stephanie's awesome expressions and compiling them :) Hmmm while I'm at it I should start writing down all of Chris's choice fidgety moves too. So yes, despite Stephanie's death glare whenever *NSync is mentioned and Chris's continuing threats to kick me out of his car whenever I get in, I had an awesome time :)

And when did I study for my test on Monday that started at 8.30am, you ask? Why, last minute creature that I am, of course I waited til I got home from 'lunch' and studied right up to 9pm. At which point my fever kicked in and I went to bed only to wake up less than an hour later, and then to be woken up again when my head was pounding and my eyes felt like they were being burned in their sockets. And yes, I did set an alarm to wake up later at night to at least go through my tutorials. But my awesome Sony Ericsson decided to fail me. Alarm rang but there was no sound :s

Imagine my panic when I woke up in the morning. Well on the bright side, my fever was gone. And I had a test to sit for in less than 2 hours. That sure was a comforting thought. It went okay though, so thank goodness for that.

Today, I hate Joash. It is completely unfair that he gets to go to a college with food that is not only edible, but awesome tasting!!! He should die. I get UTAR, where they give us dead vegetables, small portions with suitably proportionate higher prices and fried lizards, a delicacy unique to FES. I can never eat at the UTAR cafeteria again, not after seeing the awesomeness and the liveliness of the KTAR cafeteria. Damn.

It was also exceedingly pleasant to not have the annoying music playing in the background. For the past 2 weeks, there's been a booth at the cafeteria advertising the 30 hour famine thing that happens about 3 times a year if I'm not mistaken. I'm all about getting food to hungry children, trust me. But why must they keep playing that promo thingy over and over and over...

The promo by itself is fine. But that music. That accursed music that I have been hearing for 2 weeks straight whenever I sit in the cafeteria. And I sit in the cafeteria really often by the way, my friends and I spend hours there. Somehow the noise helps us 'study'. So yes. I know that bloody music by heart. They have Aaron humming that shit when we're not in the cafeteria. *shudder* The horror.

Anyway, I really should be studying Loss Models now. Got another online test this week which I'd better do well for and a test on Friday during which I won't have my notes and tutorials to refer to. And not forgetting my Business Law test, also on Friday, which I also should study for. Maybe tomorrow I'll blog about the nice book I read today that Christina borrowed from the UTAR library. I know right, who knew they had nice books?

Oh and something really funny happened yesterday. Joash wanted to talk to someone about this trauma he went through and he probably couldn't find anyone online and didn't have credit to call anyone so he had to settle for talking to me. And after he told me about it he said this image came to his mind but he didn't wanna tell me what it was. Obviously my curiosity wouldn't let it go so I pestered him until he left the room. Then he came back to the room ready to talk and this is what he said,

"Okay so here's what happened. There was this...I mean...I can't do this."

And he walked out. If I hadn't been so sick I would have been laughing my ass off :)

A Dual Celebration

Well first of all, I PASSED MY DRIVING :D

Awesome. Now I never have to see that godforsaken place again. Ever. Hallelujah. Thank you God for pushing that car over the hill.

And I made new friends too. Met a girl from Stella Maris, which brought back some hilarious memories of IU Day in Form 5. MGS decided to collaborate with Stella Maris that year. I mean the IU Day was...err....okay. But the preparations, the hours we spent together, that was fun :) Oh and as much as every guy I know would probably have a field day with this, I happened to notice that most of my fellow retakers were...well...

Girls.

That was harder to get out than I thought lol. I was also amazed that the JPJ guys all seemed to be in a good mood today. Anyway, I'll be getting my license by this week I think. I so wanted to head out and celebrate with someone but then I realised I still have 3 tests to cram for :( But I'm still happy :) Never mind, I'll celebrate this weekend when I'm supposed to be cramming for another 2 tests next week lol.

And my second celebration is....

This is officially my 100th blog post.

*sniff sniff* My baby's all grown up and reaching 100 posts. How fitting that my 100th post is good news about me becoming a legal driver :)

Okay I really should go and study now.

A Pleasant End To The Weekend

Goodness I barely got any studying done this weekend. Having fun like I don't have three tests to cram for. And look at me. Even now, I could be studying. But no, I had to blog about what an awesome time I had today :D

Church was normal. Joash got home late last night so obviously he told mom he'd come for 10.30 service. So yeah it was only me, sis and Shara serving at 8.30 service. And it was only when we reached church that I realised Joash was supposed to be reading today and he didn't show. Stupid clown.

And Michael is back!!!!! Yes, again lol. I was still excited to see him though, it's been a while. Anyway, I tried to study Financial Econs in church while waiting for 10.30 service to finish but I barely understood what I was reading :s Finally even Uncle Keith, Michael's dad, came and took a look at my notes and said they didn't make sense to him either.

So after that Uncle Christopher and Auntie Victoria very kindly took me and Joash to lunch..with Bryan and Leanne obviously. We went to Anjappar's in Bangsar and the food was so awesome. I wish I weren't so overweight I could have eaten like a pig. Then we walked around Bangsar (Auntie Victoria, Leanne and I were all wearing heels. Can so ambitiously stroll around Bangsar some more.), went to Tutti Fruity for a frozen yogurt that we made that tasted absolutely weird. Headed for Bangsar Village to hang out with Sanjeev for a while (Who I miss so much now :( Haven't hung out with him properly in so long.) and it was so much fun. I forget sometimes how fun he is to hang out with.

Oh a point worth mentioning. Leanne brought a pink bag full of her homework which she was supposed to do in my house. And when we were walking through Bangsar Village, Bryan and Joash looked like such an adorable gay couple. Bryan walking with Leanne's pink bag on his shoulder, his shorts and Joash's shirt almost matching, walking side by side...it was so funny :D

When we got home obviously as soon as Bryan, Leanne and I sat on Joash's bed we got all lazy and unable to fight the essence of sloth that crept through our bones. Needless to say, we spent the rest of our time doing absolutely nothing. It was fun though :)

In the evening Leanne helped me cook and we had a nice dinner together; me, Leanne, Bryan and Joash. It was really nice. We should do this more often.

Anyway, tomorrow's my driving test so I'm not going to uni. Fingers crossed and starting to pray...hard that I pass. Otherwise, no way Joash is letting me live this one down :s So God, please be merciful and let me pass :)
